It was very good, although I think they should do more live coding. Just looking at slides of code go by on the screen every 8 seconds prevents them from really teaching anything. They just touch on broad topics I could have just as easily googled.

And not to be a sack rider but Ben Orenstein's talk was awesome -- best I've seen by anyone, anywhere.. ever.

Also, Portland is cool as fuck! If you've never been there, check it out. I was expecting like a hipster SF but on steroids, but it really doesn't seem like that. It actually looks way cooler than SF (and I lived in the Marina too, a great area of SF right by the bridge).

Portland has tons of little 'mini-cities'. You'll walk 3 blocks and take 3 photos, and when you look at them later it looks like one could be taken on a narrow, rocky road leading up to a castle, another in Amsterdam, another in god knows where.

Sweet, I shall look forward to Confreaks videos when they are released.

I still haven't been to the USA yet, let alone SF or Portland. Need to add it to my todo list.

Did you bag any awesome swag? Did you get to meet DHH and bow down before him?

Lol, it was funny actually because they put DHH on first-day keynote to talk about JS spaghetti using jQuery, then in (I think second-day) they put Yehuda Katz and for his keynote he talked about the direct opposite of DHH. You know they put it in that order to cause some good rails drama, heh

Yehuda was pro-spaghetti code then?

Nope, other way around, because Yehuda is all about (and created) Ember.js
