Disclaimer: I work with the guy who wrote this gem.

This gem was created to solve a problem we were having diagnosing what was actually causing the site to be super slow. Like 7-10 second page load times in local development slow. It gives a concise data snapshot of what is going on. For example how many partials are being rendered on a page and how much time is being spent in the controller vs time rendering the view. Also you can set custom timer blocks around chunks of code to dissect down to the line of code where the problem lies.
