Haha thanks, i'll need it!... it seems to have fallen off of HN lol. Oh well. At the very least it was a really fun experiment to learn node and BDD testing. Now I really love that red/green flow.

Gratzi! HN is a tough crowd to please at times. Still trying to figure out what it's a "Ruby flavoured" of, in the resource description. ;)

What's the difference between this and CoffeeScript?

jamesaanderson, over 3 years ago

SkinnyGeek1010

They have a lot of similarities. The main differences are: non-significant whitespace, function syntax (func and do |x|), and a more transparent support for RequireJS or CommonJS modules, as well as a few other little things like ranges in a for in loop.

Did you know it's on HN right now?

Oh wow, no I didn't. I just got back from the smoky mountains so I didn't have any 3g lol. Oh boy I can just imagine the flaming going on there. That was one of those projects that I just did for shits and giggles. I still love writing that vanilla =D Did it happen to hit the front page?

Yeah, it definitely got very high up... https://news.ycombinator.com/item?id=6405689

It also got into Ruby Weekly, which I have been trying to get Pineapple in for some time.

Wow, I really wish I would have polished up some more stuff. I'm almost embarrassed at it's current state lol. Oh well.

Have you tried emailing some of the Ruby Weekly authors? I love my Pineapple Ruby RSS feed :)

Lol yeah, Peter is great but he said the Ruby section isn't evolved enough. That was like 8 months ago though... maybe now.

Hmmm, maybe JavaScript weekly? There's quite a bit of JS stuff here (dang that JS!).
